The NAOPD is a democratic organization. Candidates muste be nominated, seconded and then voted upon. We recognized we had to have some guidelines for membership as we are not a social organization. We kicked around a number of ideas, then came up with a rather long list of criteria. We voted and came up with the following requirements for Membership in the NAOPD.

1. The member making the nomination must know the nominated candidate personally and be able to vouch for her and her play.

2. The member seconding the nomination must know the nominated candidate personally and be able to vouch for her and her play.

3. Any member of our affiliated Sister groups is invited and welcome to join the NAOPD. There is at least a 48 hour time period before your request is approved and accepted by NAOPD.

4. The new candidate must have apprenticed to a reputable Domme or have a minimum of 2 years professional (paid) experience.

5. The new candidate must over 25.

6. The new candidate must have a totally private email address accessible only to her.

7. The new candidate must practice safe, sane, consensual bdsm and respect limits.

8. The new candidate must have an actual dungeon or her own or rent actual dungeon space in which to conduct her sessions.

9. The new candidate must have a fetish wardrobe of more than two outfits.

10. The new candidate must agree to keep discussions on this list confidential.

11. The new candidate must have a real website ... no geocities or angelfire sites.

12. The new candidate for membership in the NAOPD must have hard copy advertising
(even if it's only local to her area) with a valid means of contacting her.

13. The new candidate must do live, paid sessions.

14. The new candidate must not advertise either on her site or in ads that she is a switch.

15. The new candidate must not advertise either on her site or in ads that she offers escort services.

16. The new candidate must be a biological female.

If you or someone you know feels they might be a candidate for membership in the NAOPD, they can contact any of our members whom they know and who has seen then play and ask for nomination. We hold ourselves to a very high standard and insist on all new members meeting the requisite criteria.
